Multiple Winners of the Haskins Award

Ben Crenshaw was the first winner of the Haskins Award. And one year later, he became the first multiple winner bringing his second Haskins Award back home to The University of Texas.

Mr. Crenshaw then became the first person to win three Haskins Awards the year after that! Luckily, for the rest of the collegiate golfers of that time, Mr. Crenshaw graduated and turned pro the year after.

Ben Crenshaw completed his marvelous amateur career with three total Haskins Awards before starting his Hall of Fame PGA Tour career. Certainly, it is fair to say that Mr. Crenshaw holds a special place in golf history and without question he holds a special place within the history of the Haskins Award.

Bobby Clampett won two cosecutive Haskins Awards while playing for Brigham Young University in 1979 and 1980. He was also a three time All-Americanduring his college career.

Mr. Clampett when on to play on the PGA tour for 15 years before embarking on his current position as a golf commentator for CBS.

Mr. Clampett is coming back to play on the Senior Tour starting in 2010. He has recently been noticed in the world of golf instruction with a new philosophy entitled "Impact Zone Golf" - teaching his unique concept from his book The Impact Zone.

Phil Mickelson is the third and last multiple winner of the Haskins Award as he was voted the Collegiate Golfer of the Year in 1990, 1991, and 1992 while playing for Arizona State.

Mr. Mickelson remains a dominant force on the PGA Tour with over 30 wins and multiple Major Championships. Often going head to head with 1996 Haskins Award recipient Tiger Woods in today's golfing arena.
