How the Haskins Award Winner is Determined

The Haskins Award winner is determined by popular vote amongst the peers of that player, golf writers and media, and past winners of the Haskins Award. See Who Can Vote? for more information.

Each year, the Haskins Commission will narrow down the suggested choices for the award in the "Chase for the Haskins". The official ballot will contain those players chosen by the Haskins Committee as the top 25 collegiate golfers after the NCAA Regionals.

At the time that the list is final, official online voting will be open to those who have registerred to vote. Those who have registerred prior to this date will be notified via email that voting has officially begun and receive their voting code.

Paper ballots will be hand delivered to those players and coaches attending the NCAA Nationals.

Paper ballots will also be mailed to those media who would prefer to receive their ballot by mail.

In general the polls close the last day of June. Voting is then tabulated, and the Commission will decide where and when to release the winner. Since our mission is to promote the game of golf, we will try to choose an appropriate time and place for that announcement.

Anyone who registers to vote online and also receives a paper ballot - please note. Your vote can only be counted once. Please only return one vote whether it be via this website or by paper ballot. Anyone returning two votes will have the first vote counted only.
